Welcome to Pukekohe Community Garden's website.
Thank you so much for taking the time to check us and our mission out.
Here we have a simple mission – to make sure we play our part in making fresh fruit and vegetables to everyone in the community. They play a vital role in starting every solid foundation for all babies, children and whanaus. Without this key element, a strong healthy foundation is hard to hold on to. WE believe EVERYONE has a right to free access.
Community gardens help more than just the community, they also can partner and work with preschool and Kindys, School Groups, Corrections, Youth Justice, Elder Care and Health Providers.
So how do we plan to operate?
We are a non-profit organization.
We would have a board of directors, each with their own role. Under that, we would have a group in charge for daily running, maintenance and organizing fundraisers.
Then would be our ground team of volunteers, with which we could not function.
So where does the produce go?
Many around the country work with groups like; Women's Refuge, Hospice, Community Meals, Churches and Faith groups, Food Banks, Community Patakais, Homeless and others like volunteers, sold for funds to help maintain the garden.
I am also happy to say that Andrew Kay MP and the Lions are keen to help get this off the ground, we just need man power and land.
Please sign up and follow us on facebook and instagram, as well as here to see the updates as they happen.
If you have spare time and would like to volunteer or get on the team or have any land or know of land please contact us. WE NEED YOU
Thank you for reading and supporting us from the get go.
